The Technical Project Manager Identity is a client-facing delivery leadership role at Apivant (formerly Anthropic Identity). You will drive identity programs from discovery through go-live, partnering with identity architects, engineers, and client stakeholders to deliver CIAM, Workforce Identity, and authorization initiatives on time and with high quality. This role blends strong project management fundamentals with enough technical depth to manage IAM dependencies, surface risks early, and keep teams aligned across security, engineering, and business owners.
Key Responsibilities
- Program & Delivery Management
- Own end-to-end delivery for identity engagements (CIAM, Workforce Identity, FGA/authorization) across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Build and maintain project plans, milestones, RAID logs, and delivery artifacts that keep teams aligned and accountable.
- Run delivery ceremonies: kickoff, discovery workshops, sprint planning, daily/weekly status, stakeholder readouts, and retros.
- Track scope, schedule, and budget constraints; manage change requests and keep stakeholders aligned on tradeoffs.
- Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for delivery operations with client program owners, security leaders, engineering teams, and vendors.
- Produce clear status reporting: progress against milestones, decisions needed, risks, dependencies, and upcoming work.
- Facilitate cross-team decision making when priorities conflict or requirements are ambiguous.
- Identity-Aware Risk & Dependency Management
- Identify and manage IAM-specific delivery risks: environment readiness, tenant architecture constraints, protocol integration complexity, data/attribute dependencies, and cutover planning.
- Coordinate technical dependencies across application teams, directory/HR systems, security/compliance, and platform teams.
- Ensure testing and rollout readiness: acceptance criteria, test plans, phased rollout strategy, rollback plan, and go-live checklist.
- Process & Practice Development
- Improve delivery consistency by contributing templates, playbooks, and lessons learned to Anthropic Identity's internal methodology.
- Partner with architects and engineers to ensure documentation is complete (HLD/LLD, runbooks) and that knowledge transfer is successful.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing technical projects or programs in consulting, professional services, or a product/platform organization.
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from discovery to production.
- Strong command of delivery fundamentals: planning, estimation, dependency management, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Enough technical fluency to partner effectively with identity architects and engineers, interpret technical risks, and ask the right questions.
- Experience working with Agile delivery patterns (Scrum/Kanban) and tooling (Notion, Jira, Confluence, Google Workspace, or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering Identity & Access Management programs (CIAM, Workforce Identity, IGA, or authorization).
- Familiarity with IAM concepts and standards: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, SCIM, MFA, lifecycle management, and directory integrations.
- Experience coordinating vendor or platform workstreams (e.g., Okta, Auth0, Transmit Security, Descope) alongside application teams.
- Background in regulated environments or compliance-driven programs (SOC 2, HIPAA, SOX, GDPR) and audit readiness.
- Prior experience building delivery playbooks, templates, and operational best practices for repeatable services.
